Holiday Season Eating Tips
If you want to spend the holidays celebrating around the table and hanging out with family rather than popping Prevacid and Xenical simultaneously (both available at an farmacia online), then you’ll need to make sure that you eat responsibly. Here are some tips:
1. Indulging in some turkey stuffing? Consider baking some stuffing outside the turkey, instead of actually stuffing the bird. The fat that drips from the turkey into the stuffing adds more fat than you would imagine.
2. Mashed potatoes DO NOT need to be loaded with butter. You can make super smooth mashed potatoes by adding skim milk. Another way to make your mashed potatoes a little healthier is by adding other vegetables to the mash. Mashed potato mixed with mashed broccoli is delicious.
3. Making pumpkin pie? Use skim milk or low fat soy milk instead of heavy cream.
4. To fill up your table during dessert, make sure you supply lots of fruit options. Making a beautiful fruit platter is a great way to add color to a table and end a heavy meal with something light and healthy.
5. Here’s a rule that could save you literally hundreds of calories: Don’t eat while you’re cooking the food or while you’re serving the food. You have the entire meal to enjoy your feast and to consume more calories than you probably should. Don’t eat your meal before your meal; and certainly don’t eat a second meal while you’re clearing the table.
6. Drink lots of water before sitting down to eat. This will fill you up a bit and force you to eat a little slower—which is a good tip in itself!
